Shop nowFor our facial oils we use a small amount of essential oils. Here's why:
Essential oils contain a vast array of healing and skin-supporting benefits. Pure, organic essential oils formulated professionally assist the skin in proper function and health.
Essential oils contain the life force of the plant, which makes them beneficial and powerful. Within their dynamic mixture, the extremely beneficial molecules are also what can cause sensitivity and possible irritation and therefore must be formulated professionally. Liebe Skincare uses such small amounts of essential oils, there is much less likelihood of a reaction.
The benefits of applying pure essential oils to the skin are numerous. There are hundreds of verifiable, scientific studies. Lavender for example has anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antidepressant, antiseptic, antibacterial and antimicrobial properties.
The closer essential oils get to your face, the more they will affect your health and wellbeing. Not only can inhaling an essential oil change your mood and lower your anxiety level, it can also lower the cortisol in your bloodstream.
Bakuchiol (pronounced ba-koo-heel) is an extract derived from the leaves and seeds of the babchi plant. It’s an herb commonly used in Indian Ayurvedic and Chinese medicines, to help heal, calm, and soothe the skin, thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Bakuchiol is not only as effective as retinol at targeting fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone; it’s also less irritating.
Dermatologists say it's great for sensitive skin.
The oil comes from a plant that is found in the coastal areas of Asia and Europe, and is thought to have originated in the Himalayas. It was used by the Ancient Greeks and Chinese hundreds of years ago, and is referenced in Ancient Tibetan healing texts since the Tang Dynasty. It promotes skin hydration, elasticity, cell regeneration, and even helps treat and prevent acne. Sea Buckthorn oil has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce swelling and redness associated with many skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis and rosacea. Excellent for sensitive skin.
Buriti fruit oil is a natural wonder from the wetland regions of the Amazon as well as in Central Brazil. With three times more antioxidising beta-carotene than carrots, buriti oil is the richest source of beta-carotene (vitamin A) in the world. When vitamin A is applied topically to the skin, it converts into an active form of the vitamin called retinol, a supercharged nutrient that can boost collagen production and cell turnover as well as neutralise free radicals from pollution and fade pigmentation. If that wasn’t enough, buriti oil is also packed with oleic acid, essential fatty acids and vitamin E for an impressive hydration hit. Plus, studies are also underway to confirm its potential as a mild SPF, meaning it could be used in the long run to protect against sun damage.
